1. Use a coin or key to gently loosen the screw and take out the cover in order to reach the air filter’s element
2. Gently remove the element, ensuring that no loose debris falls into the gap
3. Inspect the element visually to look for tearing or other damage. If this is the case, replace the element with a new one.
4. Use a non-flammable or a solvent with a high flash point to wash the element. Dry it thoroughly after washing. If the element does not clean well, it may need to be replaced with a new one
5. Soak the filter in fresh engine oil – gently squeeze out the excess lubricant.
6. Re-install the air filter element in the housing and clean the area of any debris that may have fallen off during the process
7. Fasten the filter’s cover
